PROJECTS 2002: Tom Texas Holmes
Man- Handle Gamble: June 2002 Tom Texas Holmes and Chris Sollars will bathe for luck (with Mexican Lucky Soap) then proceed with the traveling party to win "big-ass money on the ponies," despite the fact that the local racing season is over. After getting "way wasted" Holmes and Sollars will sleep on their winnings. Audience members are encouraged to drink, bathe, bet, photograph and sleep with the duo as they proceed to win "the big money." The destinations of this duo are unknown so prepare for the party to move at least once during the night. So get on the party train and come on big money! |

Tom Texas Holmes is an internationally unrecognized photographer, performance, and installation artist as well as a honky-tonk gospel singer, founding member of the LA-based pimarily-merchandise-band Mother Daughter Crime Team and the Berlin-based one-gig-band GREY&BEIGE. Recently he crossed the ¯resund bridge (the longest bridge in the whole wide world) astride an ornamented horse without permission from either the Danish or Swedish government. His most recent show entitled The Horrible True Story How White Boys Got No Soul, at Parkhaus in DŸsseldorf, Holmes performed all the blues songs he could remember within the context of a photo installation. Holmes and Sollars have collaborated once before on "Pissing at the Threshold of Old Men," enacted in front of Tom Marioni's door. Long a crusader for the integrity of regionalism, secrets, and sex Mr. Holmes hopes, during his stay, to get laid. |
